Researchers confirm debris from a Chinese rocket to land land on the moon; Chinese ministry denies claims

As we know, a researcher had initially predicted that leftover debris from an old SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket would orbit very broadly around Earth and crash into the moon on March 4. The same researcher further claimed that the moon-bound rocket is actually a Chinese one. The researcher and many others who confirmed the claim said it was a Chang’e 5-T1 lunar mission. So what’s the fuss about? Read below to understand.

An astronomer who leads Project Pluto, Reportedly predicted that leftover pieces of a Chinese rocket would soon land on the moon. It is pertinent to mention here that the astronomer named Bill Gary had previously stated that a SpaceX rocket would hit the moon; which he further canceled. After further investigation, Gary confirmed that the one behind the crash is indeed a Chinese missile and in particular from the China-led Chang’e 5-T1 moon mission. Many other scientists have also confirmed Gary’s claim.

What does China say about the claims?

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has Reportedly went on to dismiss the claims. Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin stated that according to China’s monitoring, the upper stage of the rocket associated with the Chang’e-5 mission entered the Earth’s atmosphere and burned completely. Readers should note that the Chang’e 5 mission is different from the Chang’e 5-T1 that astronomers have predicted will land on the moon. Remarkable,
Chang’e-5 T1 was a predecessor to the mission to Chang’e-5 and was launched in 2020.
