NASA to bolster ISS’s Power Upgrade Program; 2 astronomers are going on a spacewalk on Wednesday

In a recent development by NASA, two astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) will take a spacewalk outside the station. The walk will be conducted to install hardware ready for the new solar panels that are being added as part of the ongoing upgrade of the ISS’s power system for the Hubble telescope. The two NASA astronauts stationed on the ISS will take the spacewalk on Tuesday. In fact, Kayla Barron and Raja Chari will participate in the spacewalk designated as US EVA 79. They will work more on the ongoing upgrade of the station’s power system. The spacewalk as informed by NASA will be conducted over a period of six and a half hours.

On this particular spacewalk, they will install brackets and struts so that more new solar panels can be installed outside the space station in the future.
